Tesla’s news week, and is fintech getting some time?

It’s been just over a minute since Tesla went public, but the EV company was unmissable on TechCrunch this week. From layoffs to pricing changes and more, it was a week deeply colored by Tesla, so we had to chat about the latest.

But that was just one element of what we discussed this week on equities. We also dug up Mary Ann’s reporting about the latest round of ramping — and the increased valuation — which fits next to Ripple’s own impending fundraising. If you are handling money, now is a good time to become a startup.

The team also explored Cherub, which seeks to connect investors and founders, promoted Maven Ventures’ consumer investments, and discussed what Mercury is doing. All told, we were lucky to have Kirsten Korosec with us this week to tackle the sheer volume and variety of transportation news, especially Tesla-related.

Equity is back tomorrow with an exclusive interview between Mary Ann and Notable Capital’s Hans Tung, so stay tuned! Until then, press play and let’s have some fun.

Equity is TechCrunch’s flagship podcast and is posted every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. You can subscribe to us here apple podcasts, overcast, spotify And all castes.
